As our lives become increasingly intertwined with technology, we know that regardless of the field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on their understanding of and ability to adapt to new technology. However, only a tiny fraction of us are learning how technology works. Fewer than half of all schools teach computer science.
That’s why for the sixth straight year, students at St John’s School once again joined the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (December 3-9).
More than 200 million students in over 180 countries have participated in various Hour of Code events.
For more information, or how you can continue the learning at home, see http://hourofcode.com/us*

The 'Hour of Code™' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week[csedweek.org] and Code.org[code.org] to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.”

I am honored to serve as the Elementary STEM Teacher. What a blessing to help students problem solve through discovery with a fully equipped lab. Previously, I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade, and K-8 music. I love working with the K-4 students, helping them to discover all that STEM has to offer them!
